Ministry Camps and Programs

ministry photoMinistry is why we exist it is an exciting part of our camping program whether it is giving discounts to Baptist groups or running new and exciting programs, as a camp body we want to share the gospel and our lives to all who come in contact with our sites. This could be through serving them through what we do to running a full evangelism camp.

As a campsite we are involved in many different forms of ministry in running camps, supporting camps run for ministry, working with youth at risk or first offenders and developing self esteem with schools groups.

Camp Wilkin at present runs:

Family Camps from approximately the 27th of December to the 10th January each year. These camps are for church people to come away for a holiday and have fellowship together. There is set programs at night which everyone is to attend but the day is your own to do what you like.
Work camp is another favourite with a day of labour on the Saturday for a free weekend to stay at camp. We achieve a great deal of work over the weekend.

The camp works with the courts and the local police with the first offenders program run approximately once a month. This a program that sees the offender work with the arresting officer for a day of trust programming from low to high ropes.

The camp works with Berry Street foster families to run their holiday family camp over the January school holidays.

The camp supports other community groups with camps and day programs

Burnside Camp at present runs:

Family camps over Summer from the 27th of December to the 10th of January approximately each year. One is a family camp the other is being setup for single parents. These camps are for church people to come away for a holiday and have fellowship together. There are set programs at night which everyone is to attend but the day is your own to do what you like.
Work camp is another favourite with a day of labour on the Saturday for a free weekend to stay at camp. We achieve a great deal of work over the weekend. This is in conjunction with both sites.

The camp supports many ministry groups such as Christian Surfers, Wombat Wish, police outreach camps, disadvantaged and disabled groups and a one off drought relief camp to name a few.
